Jo Hopkins

Executive Member, Australian Committee for IUCN (ACIUCN)

As a member of the ACIUCN Executive since 2016, Jo and her fellow colleagues provide a focus for Australian member organisations of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and organisations with primary interests or responsibilities in nature conservation to support IUCN’s global mission for ‘a just world which values nature’ within Australia.

Jo’s substantive employment is with Parks Victoria as the Manager National and International Engagement and has extensive experience in partnership and stakeholder management within the environment, health and community sectors.

Jo has a combination of substantial professional experience and a deep commitment to the vital role that parks and protected areas play in ensuring a healthy natural world.

Other roles she undertakes are Chair of the IUCN/WCPA Health and Well-being Specialist Group, Chair of Health Sciences Advisory Board for Deakin University and Co-Chair of the World Urban Parks Advocacy Committee.

Jo is a keen swimmer and enjoys spending time in nature, particularly in many of NSW and Victoria’s spectacular coastal parks.
